Quick Start Guide | DrivingTest Helper IE

Get started with DrivingTest Helper IE in a few simple steps to find and book driving test cancellation slots.

Step 1: Download the App for your device using the button below

Step 2: Open the App and Enter Your Login Code

Open the app and enter the access code provided by the person who referred you. If you don't have an instructor, you can use the code ANVAYA to access the app.

Step 3: Validate Your Account

After entering the login code, complete the validation process in the app. This confirms your account can book cancellation slots. The app automatically validates your account and we will notify you when validation is complete.

Already have the app installed? Open the app to connect your RSA account.

Step 4: Your Account Screen After Validation

Once validation is complete, scroll down on the Home tab. This shows whether your account is ready to book cancellation slots. Check the two status boxes at the top:

  • Account setup must show Complete
  • RSA sign-in must be active (it shows how much time remains on your session, e.g. "1h left")

Tap either status box for more details. Your name, referee, and email are shown below.

Step 5: Set Up Booking Preferences

Open the Preferences tab (robot icon in the bottom navigation) and configure the Booking section — test centers, and auto-booking rules:

  1. Select Test Centers
Tap Edit centers and choose the test centers where you want to take your test. You can select multiple centers to expand your options. There is no limit on the number of centers you can choose.

  2. Enable Automatic Booking
Turn on the Automatic booking toggle so the app can book slots that match your preferences when they become available.

  3. Set Your Notice Period
Choose how much advance notice you need before a test date using the Notice period dropdown (e.g. 1 day).

  4. Configure Availability
Use Allow all days and times to accept any slot, or turn it off and use the calendar to set which days and times work for you. Pink highlights mean a whole day is available; orange means specific hours are set.

  5. Save Your Preferences
Tap the save icon in the top-right corner when you are done.

Once these are set, the app will notify you of available slots and automatically book them according to your preferences.

Step 6: Activate Your App

When setup is complete, the app displays a red activation warning. Open the app, tap the warning to contact us, pay, and activate your account. You'll receive a payment link. Once payment is complete and your account is activated, the app starts checking for cancellation slots and sends notifications when slots are available.

Note: You can enable automatic booking in the Preferences tab to automatically book slots that match your preferences.

Troubleshooting

If Account setup does not show Complete, here are some possible reasons and solutions:

  • First-time test takers
If this is your first driving test, you may not have completed 6 months on your learner's license or finished your 12 EDT lessons (or 6 lessons for Reduced EDT).

  • Retest candidates
After a failed test, there's a 15-day waiting period before you can book a cancellation slot. Make sure this period has passed.

  • Temporary unavailability
If none of the above applies, there may be no cancellations available at that moment, or the app couldn't detect cancellations from your account. The app will continue validating in the background for the next 2 hours and notify you when complete. If validation fails, a condition on your account may be preventing cancellation bookings.

  • Other conditions
If validation fails repeatedly without a clear reason, your account may have specific restrictions. Make sure you are eligible to sit a test by calling the RSA and confirming if they can confirm you are eligible to sit a test.

Important Notes & Tips

  • Log in every 2 hours to keep your RSA sign-in active for instant booking.
  • Keep notifications for the app enabled to receive alerts about slot availability.
  • Configure booking preferences in the Preferences tab to automatically book slots.
  • If validation fails without a clear reason, try again in 2 hours as slot availability changes throughout the day.
